This is an attempt to make an easy-drinking, light pale ale.

Final gravity: 1.016

ABV: 4.7%

Apparent Attenuation: 69.2%

wort has a sweet, cookie, bread aroma/taste, very light flavor, pale yellow color

~30 minutes to get to biol, added LME + Maltodextrin. Removed from heat, so temp dropped to 170°, will wait until boil to put Magnum and start boil time (another 20 minutes to do this).

Boiled over right at biol temp. Did not use bag for hops this time.

Hydrometer sample: clear, orange color, bitter hops aroma. Sweet bitter, slightly citrusy flavor.

Bubbles seen in a few hours.

Fermentation has been good, about 1" krausen, that has finally dissipated.

Move to secondary (1.014 gravity). Dark yellow, orange color, mild citrus aroma, citrus/bitter taste.

Bottled. Taste is as expected, bitter citrus, orange, clear color, looks good.

Boil for 60 minutes

grains placed in the cold water and taken out after water reached 170 degrees, which took ~45 minutes

12 ounces of Crystal 15L (GreatWesternMalting) (sweet bready flavor, cookie, slight caramel)

8 ounces of Carapils (Briess) (light, bready flavor)

8 ounces of White Wheat (GreatWesternMalting) (stronger (than carapils), bread flavor)

0.5 ounces of 13% Alpha Acid Magnum pellets (bitter, piney, resiny )

3 ounces of 12% Alpha Acid Citra pellets (strong pine, citrus. There's something familiar, minty gum?)

Pitch 1 pack of Safale US-05 American Ale (Fermentis) at 70°. (sprinkled into carboy, all fell in one clump)

1 ounce of 12% Alpha Acid Citra pellets. (Dumped straight in carboy (no bag))
